The Riley’s Catch community fishing team promises to offer each and every student the chance to do what they love, lead in their community, and truly be part of something bigger than themselves.
The Riley’s Catch fishing team is a high school fishing team founded from the tragic death of Riley Laymon. A week before Riley passed, he wrote a letter to his athletic director about starting a fishing team at his high school.
Riley foresaw a nationally competitive fishing team, one with an inviting culture that brings students together by creating a fun, safe place to belong. Riley’s faith in Jesus was a big part of his life and he hoped the fishing team would provide opportunities to invite students into greater community with one another and to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
Any student seeking to join a competitive fishing team is welcome to become a part of the Riley’s Catch team.
The Riley’s Catch fishing team promises to offer each and every student the chance to do what they love, lead in their community, and truly be part of something bigger than themselves.
We partner with like-minded organizations, to host leadership experiences, student fishing/outdoor days, and other events to give kids from all walks of life a fun, safe place to belong.
Riley’s Catch offers a chance for students to practice their networking skills, take on leadership positions, and learn valuable lessons in not only fishing, but in life. We aim to develop students to build stronger minds and greater character, in order to connect them with powerful opportunities including career pathways, mentorships, and internships.
